What is our goal?
Prevention. Awareness. Research. Treatment.
We are doing our P.A.R.T. to prevent kidney failure diagnosis’ worldwide. We are accomplishing this by targeting kidney disease at its source. Whether the kidney disease is caused by polycystic kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, or by another cause, stopping the progression of the disease through prevention and awareness is our main goal. Once kidney disease leads to kidney failure the only options are dialysis or transplant, by putting our energy into early diagnosis through prevention, awareness and better treatments for all stages of kidney disease, we can keep more people off of dialysis and the renal transplant waiting list. We are also directly educating those patients affected and teaching the importance of self-advocacy when they are faced with a CKD diagnosis.
Secondly we are conducting further research of kidney disease. The two main causes of Chronic Kidney Disease are diabetes and high blood pressure. Our goal is to research new methods of treatment and slowing the progression that ends in kidney failure. By researching nutritional assistance and its role on slowing the rate of progression as well as new drugs, we can learn new methods of slowing the progression of end stage renal disease.
Thirdly we aim to be a major contributor in the advancement of treatment for those millions around the globe, already effected by CKD. Those going through the various stages of kidney disease and those with kidney failure face a tough battle. Funds raised by Global Kidney Health go to researching new treatments for every stage of CKD. We also focus on new advancements in dialysis and modality treatments. GKH is educating physicians on how to better educate their patients when given these diagnosis or any diagnosis that can lead to kidney failure so that treatment can begin early. Global Kidney Health is the leading advocate organization for those who need assistance locally and globally.
Lastly but most importantly, we want to let everyone out there who is affected directly or indirectly with CKD know that they are not alone. Global Kidney Health is a home for anyone who seeks answers, has a story, or needs a community of friends.
We strive to be the leaders in providing information about advancements and treatments. Any information provided on this site and all resources promoted by Global Kidney Health has been hand picked by a community of doctors and patients. Global Kidney Health provides information from doctors, nurses, and nutritionists as well as patients at every stage of CKD including those who are post transplant.
“Each year millions of people die prematurely from kidney failure.”
